Shariah Court, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia

2009- Current, The design of the new Shariah Court of Negeri Semibilan state represents a new interpretation of local ‘Minangkabau’ roof form. It also assimilates Islamic architectural elements found in traditional buildings in the area.

The building is to house 6 court-rooms (3 low, 2 high and one supreme court), administration areas and detention – cum – police station. Due to budgetary reasons, however, only half of the building is being constructed. The building is due to complete end 2011. The second phase is expected to be carried out in the near future to complete the complex.
