Centre of Vision, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Centre of Vision was planned to be a major regional centre for dialogue especially in the field of international politics. It also will be the central repository of ideas, thoughts, notes, and publications by Dr. Mahathir, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia. Individual scholars, NGOs or activists from any nation may present and debate their views on any subject, provided they are for the improvement of mankind and the environment.

Set amid the lush forest of Kuala Lumpur’s Lake Garden, the buildings were designed for minimal energy consumption and impact on the environment. The roof is designed as large canopies - ideal for the tropics - as well as for solar panels and rainwater harvesting. The walls comprise several layers of ‘skin’ as passive heat control decorated in stylized traditional motifs; reminiscent of the traditional houses in the villages accross the counytry
